I have been blessed to find my students and clients through word-of-mouth. Now I am becoming more pro-active so that I can make the teachings of yoga available to more people - motivated by a culture that is becoming increasingly more stressful and toxic. Instead I like to build community and connection.
Therefore I plan to add more small group classes, workshops and courses to my offerings. The reason why I am starting a newsletter: So that I can keep you informed. When I started practicing yoga over 30 years ago, I was wildly attracted by both the practices and the philosophy. Yet the language of these ancient teachings seemed other-worldly and not quite applicable to deal with mine or my students' illnesses, pains, insecurities, anxieties, compulsions, and addictions. I began to complement my study of classical yoga with Western Psychology, Neuroscience, Behavioral Science and Trauma Work. In the end I realized that all these modern modalities are well covered by yogic psychology - in the most sophisticated, holistic way. I simply had to find my own language to bring these teachings to life. This became the heart of my teaching: How to make yoga philosophy/psychology applicable to modern life issues, in the simplest and most effective way possible. Areas that I have been studying extensively and integrated into my understanding of yoga and into my work as a yoga therapist:
With over 25 years of experience, I know with confidence that yoga works. It offers you everything you need to live a meaningful and balanced life. The yogic system supports you on every level, it is the most holistic, all- encompassing approach I know. Which is why it is so powerful, affirming and healing.
